If you are among the millions of people suffering from chronic knee pain or joint pain. Just a small amount of weight loss can help ease your pain and lower the risk of having (OA) osteoarthritis. Your weight can make a change the way we live our everyday life. Research have proven that for every 1 pound you lose, you take 4 pounds off the load on your knee, hip, and ankles. Knee pain is one of the most common pain caused by overweight or obese. Those extra pounds increase the stress on your knees, lower back, hips, and ankles and can cause (OA) osteoarthritis in the long run which can be very painful. About 61 million Americans world wide suffer from chronic knee pain and just to know that a little weight loss can change your life to a painless recovery.
Changing the way we eat and simple exercises can change the way you suffer daily from knee, hip, ankles, and lower back chronic pains. Like most Americans love fast food or even love to to eat at restaurants all that sounds really good but your destroying your body and causing more pain to your joints specially the knees. Here are some pointers I’ve been using and let me tell you I’ve been with less pain and feel great about myself. First thing is start putting less food to your plate. Start adding vegetables to your plate. Go for walks after your meal. Pack your own lunch for work or activities. If you can avoid going up elevators or escalators start taking the stairs. Even if you start off going up 1 floor then little by little increase how many floors you can do. Taking simple steps like these can help reduce joint pain and reduces the chances of getting (OA) osteoarthritis.
Decreasing weight-bearing pressure on the knees. Looking at the big picture think about just losing just 10 pounds off your weight is taking off 40 pounds off your knees and ankles. Think about how much less pain you’ll have just losing 10 pounds of body weight and 40 pounds of your steps on those knees. Amazing huh what just 10 pounds can make a big difference on your life and to your knees. Less pressure to the knees, means less wear and tear to the joints. Helps reduce chances of getting future (OA) osteoarthritis, less lower back pain, less pain to the hips and ankles.
Reduces inflammation in the body. Inflammation in the body has been proven that is a sign of (OA) osteoarthritis risk factor. Being over weight increases the inflammation in the body that can cause numerous joint problems and pain. Just losing some weight can reduce the chances of getting (OA) osteoarthritis which is known to be the number one leading disability in america.
Reducing your weight can help in lots of way, how you walk, less pain, feel better, and less wear and tear. I started with baby steps, waking up in the morning to do my little exercises, eating a healthy meal and small snacks in between, walking after my meals, and gradually up to small 2 pounds weight around the ankles while I did my stuff around the house. I’ve never felt better in my life. Losing weight can’t repair the damage that’s already been done to your joints by arthritis, but it will decrease the pain caused by the disease. But keep in mind the more weight you lose, the less weight your joints have to carry around causing it to only get worse by time.
